Media and import
Import local video, audio, and images and place them on the OhRec Studio timeline.
Import files
Open the Media tool from the tool rail and choose Import. OhRec accepts common video, audio, and image formats your browser can decode (typically MP4, WebM, PNG, JPG, and similar).
Imported files are copied into local project storage so your edit keeps working even if you move or delete the original file on disk.
Add media to the timeline
- Import one or more files in the Media panel.
- Select a video or image from the project media list.
- Move the playhead to the desired timestamp.
- Click Add to timeline — a media layer block appears on an overlay row.
Video and image layers behave like other overlays: drag timing on the timeline, reposition in the preview, and adjust scale and opacity from the inspector when selected.
Layer controls
- Timing — drag block edges or set start/end in the panel
- Position — drag directly in the preview
- Scale and opacity — inspector sliders when the layer is selected
- Stacking — media can sit under text or annotations for B-roll and picture-in-picture layouts
Audio import
When mixing ships, imported audio will appear on its own timeline row with independent volume and fade controls. See Audio and waveform for current audio tools.
